Culture-Lunnaegan Herbalism
Origins
When tired scouts drank some water that was caught in one of the beaker plants in the forest, they felt nearly instantly magically reinvigorated, and they brought this news to the highest ranking of their village. They explored this more and found that when the plants were laid in water, some of the magical essences of the plant leaked out of the plant and into the water. They discovered that when drinking this power infused gave different effects. To further explore this phenomenon, both the herbalism and healing factions were founded.
Process of Herbalism
The Lunnaegans, the nocturnal people who live in the forests, have since created a form of herbalism that relies on gaining access to the natural powers stored in the flora of the woods. This process has become one of the professions and life paths for the Lunnaegans. The herbalists focus on finding ways to create teas by infusing water with the lunar energy from different plants. Each plant has its own specific benefit it brings, and combining different plants will bring even more specific results. This experimentation is still a process, and each herbalist is encouraged to make their own discoveries. Some of the most commonly used potions are;
- Improving their physical health.
- Increasing the mana that they have.
- Improving their reflexes, allowing them to move faster.
They use the flowers that naturally fall from the plants they belong to and study what they can do when infused with water. As a very limited additional research topic, fire can be used to see how hot water could change its aspects of it and created tea in the process. The limited use of fire is due to any fire being seen as using the powers of Sotechli, which is counted as blasphemy. Tea is only used for ceremonial purposes or bad cases of disease because fire is required for it to be made.
Central Library of Knowledge
A library of knowledge exists in every village from which beginners and novices can learn when they first decide to join the herbalist faction. When they graduate and become full-fledged herbalists, it is encouraged to add to the library. Any special and significant discoveries will warrant the herbalist to travel to the capital to add their discovery to the main Central Library. On a yearly basis, chosen representatives from a village's herbalist faction will travel to the central city to meet and exchange the discoveries of that year. This ensures that the knowledge is fairly distributed across all villages.
Harmonious Collaboration
The infused water is always given to messengers and guards since they have the most need for a boost at any given moment in time due to their jobs. The guards and messengers in turn look for flowers and petals that the herbalists request while they are out in the forests. This makes for a unified system of mutually working together that promotes the way of life that the Lunnaegans strive for. The farmers donate the flowers and leaves that grow on their farms as well after they are used to create the seeds for the next harvest.
