Character Backstory: Aamanon

This post is going to go over the backstory of one of the two main villain characters of the story, Aamanon. The two of them were the big starting point of this game, and thus the story is bound to be updated and changed along the way, as well as include a minor spoiler.

The two grew up being outcasts in their Xipilian community because they were a mix of the two main races on Tenril. In their early childhood, they were living in an outpost by the border of the desert and forest, the geographical split of where each of the races lived. In their village, most of the other villagers were soldiers due to it being at the border. Their mother had a hard time raising them due to the way they were conceived. Their horns took a long time to grow which caused them to be even more cast out by the other children. The Xipilians take pride in their horns since the size typically reflects their individual strength. This painted their youth with a lot of hatred towards the elves, Meztlians to them, and made both of them very keen to prove themselves as strong.

When they were still young, their village was attacked when tensions between the soldiers, Yaotlans, in their village and the Meztlians rose. Both of them being very keen to show their strength despite their weaker appearance went into the battle as well in order to prove themselves. This was seen by one of the high generals, Abaidon, who saw their strong fighting spirit while being still very young and he decided to take them to the capital city to train. They took this chance and went with him, being effectively adopted by him in the process.

When they started training, it became clear relatively quickly that Aamanon was very good with weapons, being very dexterous and athletic. To make up for his lesser connection to Sotechli, their deity, and magic, he imbued his weapons with fire, which was something none of the other Yaotlans had thought to do since they all have much more mana to draw from. He became a private student to Abaidon, and even got the attention of King Lukairon, who also taught him how to try and gain more mana from Sotechli by explaining to him how he draws on the power of the flares.

He quickly rose through the ranks and was sent out against the Meztlians on the front lines, leading his battalion himself and even protecting them if he could, which other generals typically didn't do. He was respected by everyone, but being on the frontlines so much, he started getting second thoughts about whether what was going on was really as black and white as he was taught. He had seen the Meztlians a lot and started to doubt what he believed them to be like. He saw them not be the heartless monsters he was taught they were, but they were helping each other and cared for one another a lot. Seeing this over and over gave him doubts about what was going on, and what this means for the war he was fighting in.

During one of the raids he led against a Meztlian village, he made his decision to leave in order to try to end the war to stop the conflict between the two races.
