Thoughts of Us
Story
This apartment is Andrew’s. Cethin is close to him, and so is Grimes. Martha is his girlfriend, yet he can’t quite recognize any of it. They’ve just dropped by for a get-together, but Andrew suspects there’s something else under the surface.
In the midst of his dreamlike confusion he’ll have to talk to the right people if he hopes to find the truth, carefully listen to their thoughts, or not.
Will he choose the true path or will he choose his own undoing?

Characters
Grimes: The Mask
His sleek style matches his cold sense of professionalism, and this attitude extends to all aspects of his life. He’s a businessman, and though one can’t truly know what's underneath his usual impassiveness, it can’t be forgotten how one of those sugary white grins can sell anything…
“Wanting to win is my nature, but I’m fair.” — Grimes.
Cethin: The Shadow
A free spirit, he lives for the thrill of getting drunk on life, and beer. He wants others to join him for the taste of euphoria, especially Martha. They’re all trapped and he will be the one to release them from the cage.
“You guys are missing the taste of life. Seriously.” — Cethin.
Martha: The Beloved
Soft Spoken and thoughtful, she is unwaveringly present despite the ever present air of confusion. She and Andrew share a history of love and friendship, but even the tallest towers can fall…
“Tears are not for understanding, Andrew. They’re for compassion.” — Martha.

I like the how stylized the character arts and backgrounds are. The main menu is somehow very small compared to the size of the screen. Is this intended? There’s also a flicker of the dialogue box right after I start the game, though it’s very minor. The history zoom doesn’t work for me but I’m happy of the thought. I really appreciate the complete suite of VN features, which don’t always come with an Unity game.
I like how the choice menu appears and disappears. The narrator name seems to go outside the box at times, though?
Hmm. Interesting. An awkward opening, no one seems to know what’s going on…I’m torn. I think I personally would like an extra line or two in the beginning to set the scene, but this confusion is apt to the story. I must admit I have no idea what’s going on the first 15 minutes of this, and then. Oh. OH.
That was a good one. Great use of lighting too.
It was intended to have small main menu buttons, but that was also cause of some other planned things that never happened. Perhaps we might still add those to add to some more creepyness.
Thanks for the mention of the dialogue box, that one I need to set properly :o. Not sure why history zoom doesnt work since i just tried on webgl version and works fine? Might just be that you are not clicking on the handle?
Also weird that you're seeing the narrator's name, thats probably someone who misspelt narrator and now its showing as an actual name although I shouldve picked up on that.
Yeah, story is very heavy on confusion, it's hard to balance that well when you already know whats going on. Might need to get some fresh testers to go in blind and give their opinions early on to the writers so we can make it run smoothly.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it!
What a deliciously creepy game this is! The overall art design--from the characters and backgrounds to the ui and limited, shifting color palette--is phenomenally unnerving, especially with the haunting tracks that back it. The surreal storyline makes my skin prickle (in a good way), and the voice cast did a beautiful job in their roles. 💚 Well done, team!
Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate it :)
